1. Who we are
This website is operated by Spiders & Termites Construction Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a construction company based in Kigali, Rwanda. For privacy questions, email info@spidersandtermites.com or call +250 788 000 000.
We process personal data in line with Rwanda’s Law Nº 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy.
2. What this site does
This is a company website. It presents our services, projects, team, gallery, and office location, and lets you send a project inquiry or reach us on WhatsApp. There is no public account registration, online payment, or client portal.
3. Information we collect
Inquiries you send us
When you use the contact / quote form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, and your message. We store that request in our project inbox so our team can follow up.
WhatsApp and phone
If you contact us through WhatsApp or by phone, Meta (WhatsApp) or your telecom provider processes that conversation under their own terms. We use the details you share to respond to your inquiry.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small amount of browser storage to run the site:
- Your cookie preference (accept all or essentials only), stored locally in your browser.
- Admin sign-in tokens, only if a staff member logs into the content management area.
We do not currently load third-party advertising or analytics scripts. If that changes, we will update this policy and only use optional cookies after you choose “Accept all”.
Maps and social links
The office map is an embed from Google Maps. Opening it, or following Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, or X links, is handled by those providers under their privacy policies. We only store the public profile URLs our team adds in site settings.
Technical logs
Our servers may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type, and time of visit) for security, rate-limiting, and troubleshooting. Staff activity in the admin area is recorded in an internal activity log.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to quote and contact requests
- Discuss a possible construction project with you
- Keep the website secure and in working order
- Operate the staff content management system
We do not sell your information, and we do not use inquiry data for third-party advertising.
5. Legal bases
Depending on the situation, we rely on:
- Your request — you asked us to reply about a project
- Our legitimate interest in running and securing this website
- Consent, where you accept optional cookies
- A contract or steps toward a contract, if we later work together on a build
6. Who we share information with
Inquiry details stay with our team. We may share them with trusted service providers who host this website, email, or database infrastructure, only as needed to operate the site. We may also disclose information if required by Rwandan law.
Emails related to staff password resets are sent through our configured mail provider when that feature is used.
7. How long we keep it
Quote and contact records are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up project, then archived or deleted when they are no longer required. Cookie preferences remain in your browser until you clear site data. Admin session tokens last only while a staff member is signed in.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate details
- Delete data we no longer need
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Withdraw cookie consent (use Essentials only, or clear this site’s data in your browser)
Email info@spidersandtermites.com to make a request. You may also lodge a complaint with Rwanda’s National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), which oversees personal data protection.
9. Children
This website is intended for prospective clients and partners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the website or our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do.
